Satellite TV in Saint Louis, MO–bad idea?
I’m moving to Saint Louis in December and since I won’t be getting a landline, I’m especially interested in satellite vs. cable TV. It’s a whole heck of a lot cheaper, firstly, and growing up in Detroit, I never had an issue when my parents used satellite vs. cable. . . .
. . . except for when the weather got bad and the signal was knocked out.
I know that Saint Louis has crazy summertime weather, much worse than Detroit (yay!). Long story short, is getting satellite a bad idea in STL for those of you who live there? If you have satellite, do you experience lots of outages compared to your cable-purchasing friends?
I had satellite for almost a year and got rid of it and went back to cable because of exactly the problem you said, Every time it was really windy and bad storms, I lost the signal. I had them come out numerous times and they told me the dish was installed wrong, blah, blah, blah. I finally ended up getting rid of it and going back to Charter Cable, and I never had a problem again.
If you are a new customer to St. Louis, they will give you a good deal even without a land line for the first year.
