Does TIVO Digital Video Recorder bought from US work in India?

I am planning to buy a Digital Video Recorder and could find a reasonab;e priced one –tivo.My requirement is to record TV programs when I am not at home or when I am viewing a different channels.I want to know if this TV Digital video recorder will work for our Indian TV’s and satellite providers like Dish TV.

US TiVos only work with NTSC video and 120V service, plus require a subscription that provides only US/Canadian guide data.

I recommend you get a generic recorder that can accept PAL video and 240V power, or better, one sold for/in you market.
